KPIs & quality objectives: measurable, monitored, verifiable
The auditor does not only ask whether quality objectives exist – but whether they are monitored and what happens when they are missed. In many companies these objectives live in a spreadsheet that is dug out once a year for the management review. The KPIs & quality objectives module brings them into the management system: every objective has a target, a responsible person and a recording rhythm, you enter the actual value per period, and a traffic light shows whether the objective is achieved, at risk or missed – in line with ISO 9001 clause 6.2 and, by analogy, for environmental and OH&S objectives under ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
What KPIs & quality objectives offers
How it works in practice
At the start of the year the quality manager sets up the objectives: on-time delivery at least 95 %, at most three customer complaints per month, quotation lead time at most five days. On the fifth working day of the following month the responsible persons enter their actual values – the filter “No actual value” shows where something is still missing. If on-time delivery slips into the amber band in May, the reason is in the comment. And when the management review comes round in autumn, the section “Achievement of objectives” is already filled: eight objectives, four achieved, three at risk, none missed – with a comparison to the previous year and without retyping a single figure.
